Facing the light

Bee

Composition wise i like this shot but have other pictures, where i can see details on this little guy more clearly. Amazed at what this little cameraphone can do and i think i will be okay with it until i buy something good. When Kodak's 7mp PS camera was hunting for focus, i-mobile had little problem in capturing this shot.

The Big Picture

There is this new blog on Boston Globe called The Big Picture, which tells stories through pictures. Alan Taylor who maintains this blog compiles all images specific to a topic from various sources and presents them in his blog. It has simple yet effective interface, which makes reader's experience even better.

Images of the big picture never seizes to amaze me, today there is a blog entry with beautiful pictures on world's largest cycle race in France.

All his posts are very touching and amazing. Below are few stories to show the brilliance of this blog:

Wild flower

Wild flower

This photo was taken in my house with i-mobile 902 and it was windy.

I decided to wait until PMA 2009 for Canon to release 50D, if not, at least by then price of upcoming 5d replacement will be reduced to some extent.

Amazing social worker

I'm bit skeptical about the media and their ways of creating news but if this is really true, then it is amazing to know that we still have such people left on this planet:

He was walking toward the stairs when a teenage boy approached and pulled out a knife.

"He wants my money, so I just gave him my wallet and told him, 'Here you go,'" Diaz says.

As the teen began to walk away, Diaz told him, "Hey, wait a minute. You forgot something. If you're going to be robbing people for the rest of the night, you might as well take my coat to keep you warm."

In such instances, usually people get angry thinking of their loss but here is a person, who wants to genuinely help this perpetrator and make him realize. Very few people overcome their emotions and think of reasons for a person to risk his freedom for the sake of few dollars. Thats simply amazing!.

New interest

Last year, I eagerly waited for the release of sonyericsson's K850i mobile phone. I had expectations on imaging capabilities of this phone but it turned out to be complete disappointment. Images taken with K850i are not even comparable to its predecessor, it couldn't even reproduce actual colors of the scene and the images had that washed out look. Well, this made me to look elsewhere and found I-Mobile 902. It has sony's 5mp CCD sensor and it interpolates images upto 8mp. It also has the same sensor which is being used in some Canon digital point and shoot cameras.

Initially, I just wanted to have a phone which has a decent camera and can be taken everywhere without the need of carrying dedicated digital camera around. I wanted such mobile phone which could document my life in pictures but slowly with excellent image quality of i-mobile 902 my interest changed from documenting things to creating pictures.

I seem to have found new interest but photography is darn expensive. Only if K850i wasn't so disappointing camera phone, otherwise i wouldn't had discovered my passion so soon through I-Mobile 902. Anyhow, i must thank sonyericsson for making such a crappy imaging flagship phone, which led me to the realization of my interest for photography. I think, I've out grown I-Mobile 902 and i need better camera and lens for the kind of pictures i wish to capture. I should also keep learning from excellent photographers on flickr & internet.
