Indian Taliban?

Mangalore pub attack on young men and women is indeed outrageous and barbaric. As free citizens, it is individual’s prerogative to choose on how one leads their life and it is not anyone's business (including the state) to prescribe things. Misguided puritans have no role in our democratic and secular country. Certainly those hooligans of Sri Ram Sena must be punished stringently and made to pay for using Sri Ram’s name. But why call them Taliban?. For our media, is it so hard to relay news and evoke people's emotions without using flammable,incongruous and debatable label, which has wider connotation than it is required?.

All those naive views on the internet that pronounce these hooligans as terrorists only distort actual meaning of a terrorist and provide future fodder to Hindu-Zionists conspiracy theories, which are rampant among our adversaries. Any use of terror laws against them as suggested by Ananthamurthy will only dilute our critical fight against actual terrorists (whichever religion they may belong). Why can’t we handle this issue by remaining immune to our prejudices & hatred, is it too hard to try?.

Those pseudo secularists and politicians, who pounce on anything which is related to Hindus, should ask themselves, why they weren’t so outraged, when muslim legislators and urdu press in Hyderabad, demanded head of an hapless lady? and don’t they care about sexual exploitation of women in the north east by the christian terrorists of NLFT?, Doesn’t these women and all other women in the country matter to them?. Their selective amnesia just exposes their intellectual dishonesty.

It would serve our cause better, if we just focus on the issue, rather than exhibit our prejudice & hatred in open, which only muddle things!.

Why do we need jadeja?

It seems NDTV have no qualms in employing services of Ajay Jadeja for commentating on cricket in their channel. Even though Delhi high court has lifted his 5 years ban imposed by BCCI after their internal inquiry, it is apparent from the CBI report that jadeja had close relations with bookies. Though, his guilt was not proven due to the nature of the inquiry but he is controversial, since azharuddin himself has mentioned jadeja's involvement during his questioning by CBI. Why would NDTV wish to have such a controversial figure to comment on cricket on their channel? Perhaps because of his royal blood? or is it due to NDTV not adhering to ethics?. It is becoming disgusting just to watch him comment on cricket, specially when he speculated bookie's angle in Bob woolmer's death!.

A beautiful travelogue and a captivating blog

No matter how busy we are, sometimes few things captivate our thoughts and make us lose our sense of time!. I had such experience twice in a span of few days. On republic day, Benjamin shared his fascinating travelogue of his Indian visit with the IndianCivilization group members. Well, his illustrated webpage took me into different & colorful world from mine and also it reminded me three things which i long been forgotten(perhaps i have not thought too seriously about the means, through which i can accomplish them!) and they are: 1) To learn Sanskrit 2) Study Vedanta 3) Travel this planet and learn about different cultures & its people (probably due to this urge, i get more attracted towards blogs which write about places or its people).

Today, i was going to bed when my friend called and requested me to come online. Initially, I was reluctant because i was drowsy due to lack of adequate sleep on the previous night, anyway in the end i had to oblige. After i had finished with him, i chanced upon a blog of a 47 year old women, RamaAnanth (nickname). Her style of narration is very captivating and one post led to another and this way i had read her entire blog and forgot that i was dying for sleep and that tomorrow i need to wake up early. I had much desire to read more of her writings but sadly she doesn't blog frequently. Anyway, i wanted to leave my comment on her blog but i can't post it due to some problem with msn :(.

J&K: Amusing Newsreader & Terrorist Attack

Today morning around 11:30am, i was watching NDTV's Hindi news, they were following terrorist attack in J&K. What stuck me is when the newsreader proclaimed that this attack discredits the security forces intelligence, which said that the terrorist training camps across the border were affected in the quake and that 700 terrorist had died. I wondered, how? does he mean that there are no terrorists already present inside J&K (If my memory serves me correct, then i remember army spokesperson saying that approximately there are 2000 terrorists operating in J&K.) or is he implying that those terrorists cross LOC just before they intend to commit terrorist act?. On serious note, This high profile attack may not have carried out without the knowledge of higher command and recent killings in the past few days reveal that the unilateral ceasefire issued by jihadi council to help earthquake victims is sham. Increase in violence only shows their desperateness to conceal losses in POK.

All news channels had given importance to this news & terrorism, it is understandable that this prominence comes from the fact that the Educational Minister Gulam Nabi Lone had lost his life but at the same time we shouldn't forget those 10 lesser souls, who are gruesomely murdered few days ago by these terrorists. At the same time, this should not distract army & administration from providing relief operations to quake victims.

Sayesha's blog

Yesterday midnight i started searching for blogs on various subjects and after going through heap of interesting blogs, around 4am in the morning i found Sayesha's blog. I had read her blog entry on categorizing of commentators in blogsphere and it was kinda okay sort of a blog not much interest to me, then i went through her travel blog, which contained many pictures of her various visits and these pictures were interesting, hence i added her blog to my temporary feeds list, in hope to explore her blog later. Today night i had some free time, so i started browsing through her blog and i found her writing style to be captivating. Her skills to write about a incident or narrate a story is excellent, otherwise i wouldn't take time to blog on a blogger :-).

She blogged about crappy jobs she held in the past and the way she found a good job for her, well this isn't much and people can say, that every person has bad times and most of them find ways to get out of it. Yes it is true but how many can write about these events in a way that it fascinates their readers and which they can relate it to themselves? or should i say in a manner, in which readers can experience her emotions at different stages of their slump? Well, i think Sayesha has got a quite a character and very persistent. Or may be i just need some sleep and this insomnia making me over react!.

Her blog reminds me of Journeywomen's blog, Sayesha's writing are not as fascinating as Journey women's, but well worth to read regularly!

Update: Now i had read almost all of her blogs and she has good sense of humor and she utilizes her humor to make her blogs interesting. She takes Blogging 101 advices too seriously and that's good! :)

Dilemma or ignorance of indian media!!??

I was watching TV today and surprised to see indian media channels using words "Militant" and "Terrorist" interchangeably as if their both denotes the same meaning, may be there is ambiguity in their minds!. its quite pathetic to see them mince their words which have wider political significance.

Rediff has a news item on today's terrorist event in Ayodhya and title of the news item says 6 militants storm Ayodhya, killed "and when we click on the news story, it starts with "Six heavily armed terrorists", perhaps this is too much for them to decide!.
