Apathy towards baloch people!

No civilized & responsible nation will use jets, gunships and heavy artillery against their own people unless of-course if the government thinks otherwise and doesn't care about them. World remains impervious towards the atrocities and brutal crimes committed by the pakistani army on baloch people. Some persons & the media in our country are more concerned about jeopardizing our relationship with Pakistan than noticing the tragic suffering of fellow humans in Balochistan. Our Uncle Sam who champions freedom and democracy all over the world remains indifferent in raising the issue with his number one ally, Major Non-NATO ally and trusted friend "Pakistan".

Below is the picture of a little girl and more gruesome images can be seen here
(Courtesy: http://balochvoice.com)

No democratic country in this world is willing to come forward to listen to pleas of numerous pakistani politicians, irrespective to their political affiliation or to the pakistan based group called Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy(ARD):
"The ARD appeals to the Western democratic forces to support the oppressed people instead of dictators, endorse the views of the ARD and other democratic forces and stop the (Pakistan) government from using force to suppress the fundamental and human rights of the people of Balochistan."

Anyway, Why anyone should come forward? and what is in for them? Specially when we all forgot about humanity long time ago!.

Ps: My sincere apologies to those unsuspecting readers for exposing you to such a gruesome picture.

The rest of the World and especially Pakistan has lot to answer on this issue.....Why are they keeping quite at such an atrocity being comitted?

Save Balochistan! Liberate Balochistan!

And 'Shuuro' refrain from posting such horrific pics.....just provide links to them....i understand the grave nature of this incident....but it isn't ethical.

Swathi,

Unlike in 1950s oppression of baloch people, through net we can blog about it & show our sympathy to the people of that region. That is the least we can do.

Harsha,

Yes, i do agree with you on ethics in posting of this pic. Indifference of many made me furious, therefore thought of highlighting brutalness of this campaign.

Looks like the protest comes from within Pakistan.

The scribe of this blog certainly feels the pain and confusion of every Baloch. On behalf of my people, I like to thank him/her for eloquently expressing his/her views to the global community.

Recently, a dear friend of mine called me here in the US to ask if the photos of the massacred children were authentic. I assured him that as a Baloch, there is no doubt in my mind that these photos were taken anywhere other than my beloved Balochistan.

While in boarding school, I shared my life with people from all corners of Pakistan. The fraternal bond with my Punjabi, Sindhi and Pashtoon brethrens during those impressionable years made me feel like a true Pakistani.

But, the ruthless ethnic cleansing of the Baloch people by the mighty Pakistani military has shattered my utopian image of Pakistan.

Why are my people being treated like an enemy of the state?
1. Is it because we are asking for equitable treatment in sharing the proceeds of natural resources of Pakistan?
2. Is it because we are asking the government to provide us with schools, hospitals, roads and other infrastructure?
3. Is it because we are requesting the government not to build military bases in Balochistan?
4. Is it because we don't want over 600 military checkpost throughout Balochistan?
5. Is it because we are pleading for assignments in local as well as federal government departments to have equal representation for our region?
6. Is it because we want training and jobs in developmental projects so that we can make a decent living?
7. Is it because we want to put a stop to the flagrant corruption of land deals in Gwadar?

In response to our genuine demands, the Pakistani military sends helicopter gunship, fighter jets and the artillery to bomb our children, women and senior citizens!

Why? What is our crime? Where are the voices of my Punjabi, Sindhi and Pashtoon brethrens during these perilous times? Why are they not revolting against the military and stopping them from killing their fellow countrymen?

But, among the 6 billion people of the world and the so-called champions of Human Rights, it is only the Indian government who had the courage to voice her concern about the massacre of the Baloch people. I want to extend my sincere gratitude to the people of India for taking a conscientious stand to stop this crime against humanity by the ruthless Pakistani military.

No wonder why every Baloch is feeling alienated in Pakistan. It just breaks my heart to see the genocide of the Baloch people by the Pakistani military.
